Recently, we brought you a story on Grace City Clerk Shelley Reeves, who was named Administrator of the Year by the Idaho Rural Water Association. Since that time, the official event has been held, and representatives from the IRWA visited Grace City Council last week to present the award in person.
The IRWA stated: “The award was announced at the IRWA annual Spring Conference Awards Banquet on April 3rd, 2025, hosted at Boise’s Riverside Hotel. While Reeves was unable to be in attendance for the awards ceremony, the award was accepted on her behalf by Jake Wright, Wastewater Operations Supervisor for the City of Grace, and Shane Hamilton, Maintenance Crew Team Member for the City of Grace.
The Administrator of the Year Award recognizes an administrative employee for outstanding performance in office management, customer service and any other procedures that has benefited the operation of the utility. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be affiliated with an IRWA utility system member in good standing with full voting rights.
Reeve’s colleagues, who submitted her nomination for the award, praised her proficiency in the operations of the city’s drinking water and wastewater systems, particularly in maintaining permits and staff licenses.
“Shelley is the system’s unsung hero, the knowledgeable force behind the city and is credited for being the ‘glue that holds the whole city together’’, said Jake Wright in his nomination. “She's the heart of our community, uniting the community and essential to our success. We are the lucky ones to have her on our team!”
Idaho Rural Water Association (IRWA) is a non-profit association comprised of 370 water and wastewater utility systems in Idaho that primarily serve populations of 10,000 or less. IRWA’s mission is to provide technical assistance, training, and a strong representative voice for the benefit of Idaho's drinking water and wastewater utility systems.
